Abhi Mehrotra, MD, MBA, FACEP is Vice Chair of Operations and Strategic Initiatives at the University of North Carolina Department of Emergency Medicine. He oversees clinical operations of the Emergency Department at both the UNC Medical Center and UNC Hillsborough Hospital. He also co-leads the UNC Health Emergency Services Specialty Program, integrating clinical acute care delivery across the health system. Dr. Mehrotra co-founded and is CEO of MedScribes, a medical scribe services start-up serving the Research Triangle region of NC. Additionally, he played a key role in alpha and beta testing a patient-centered analytics company, Bivarus. He is active in the teaching entrepreneurship and healthcare operations at the Kenan-Flagler Business School. Dr. Mehrotra earned his MD from The Ohio State University and MBA from the University of North Carolina.
