MBA 2021

How have you benefited from being a member of the Healthcare Club Executive Board?
As student leaders, we have the platform to make a big impact on the UNC Kenan-Flagler community and our MBA peers. One of my main goals for pursuing my MBA is to develop real-world leadership skills. Having the opportunity to set the direction for the Club while also integrating the priorities and values of my peers in the program, puts me in a strong position to develop those leadership skills. I’m eager to see how our exciting plans for the year come together this year.

What has been your most memorable experience being a part of the Healthcare Club / Program so far?
During the Spring, it became clear that COVID-19 was going to change everything about our lives. We realized as a club that this would be the defining healthcare challenge of our MBA years, so I saw a chance for us to break through some of the confusion and noise in the early days of the pandemic. Together with the CBOH, we arranged and executed a weekly COVID-19 Speaker Series over Zoom, connecting students with experts across the industry for timely, relevant discussions and Q&A. I’m so proud of our Club members for acting quickly and turning a global challenge into a learning experience.

What are you looking forward to the most as a UNC alumni?
The Tar Heel network is amazing. Every Kenan-Flagler and UNC alum I’ve met has been friendly, welcoming, and willing to help, regardless of whether we meet at a school event, recruiting function, or organically through work. When I graduate, I hope to pay that experience forward and support future Tar Heel MBAs as they continue their healthcare careers.

What are the top two items on your bucket list?
I am an adventurer by nature, so my bucket list is really long! But the top two right now are: 1. Taking a motorcycle trip along the Pacific Coast Highway, and 2. Watching UNC play my alma mater, Indiana, in the March Madness finals. Maybe someday….
