Bennet Waters

Bennet is a Partner in R64 Capital, a Durham, NC-based effort to raise a $75 million corporate engagement venture capital fund. He has more than twenty years of senior leadership experience in operations, finance and life-cycle M&A in Fortune 500 and privately held healthcare organizations as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer and in enterprise-wide roles with responsibility for strategy, marketing and acquisition integration. Bennet also served in the US Department of Homeland Security as Chief of Staff to the Assistant Secretary for Office of Health Affairs and as Counselor to the Secretary and Deputy Secretary.

Career highlights include measurable results aligning strategy and tactics to conceive and execute growth plans; leading and optimizing operations; building and developing high-performing teams; solving complex organizational problems; and driving financial performance to create sustained stakeholder value. He has led three companies to successful liquidity events.

Prior to leading healthcare SaaS company Amplicare, Inc. to a strategic exit in 2020, Bennet was Enterprise Vice President for Integration at LabCorp (NYSE: LH) and Principal/Global Head of Strategic Advisory Services at The Chertoff Group in Washington, DC.

In addition to his executive experience, Bennet has been a part-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management of the University of North Carolina’s Gillings School of Global Public Health since 2003. He maintains an active teaching load with Masters and Doctoral students and has served on numerous dissertation committees.
