Susanne Killian

Associate Director, Student Engagment, Center for the Business of Health; UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School

Susanne is a strategic program leader with over 20 years of experience in the field of education and career development. She has focused on graduate level curriculum development, advising and coaching including working with MBA, MSA, MS and Ph.D. students with UNC Kenan-Flagler MBA, Princeton University, Duke University and the East Carolina College of Business. With a deep interest in healthcare, she emphasizes career exploration and self-empowerment, encouraging students to be nimble in their healthcare related job search while supporting them in the goal setting and planning process to provide them with lifelong professional and personal development skills. Susanne has experience plugging graduate students into the healthcare industry ecosystem, encouraging strong community amongst peers, campus partners and employers. Her main goal is to prepare students to become career and life problem solvers, equipping them for a dynamic career lifespan as leaders in the business of healthcare.

Susanne holds her Ph.D. in Educational Research and Policy Analysis from North Carolina State University, has a Career Development Facilitator Certification from the NCDA and is also Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certified. Beyond the office she enjoys running, nature, volunteering and working with her partner on their sustainable micro-farm where they raise heritage Florida Cracker Sheep for fiber and fun.
