MBA Healthcare Club
Who We Are
The MBA Healthcare club serves to give Kenan-Flagler students unprecedented access to the school’s resources to help them pursue a career in healthcare. From networking and leadership opportunities to education and job-finding skills, the MBA Healthcare club equips MBA students with everything they need to secure internships and full-time jobs within the healthcare industry. As a destination for healthcare-focused students, Kenan-Flagler maintains partnerships with premier healthcare companies in every functional area of the industry. Whether students are interested in pharmaceuticals, payer systems, finance, or another area, the MBA Healthcare Club plays a crucial role in their career development during their time at Kenan-Flagler.
Career Labs
Every week, the Healthcare Club teams up with KFBS Career & Leadership office (C&L) to offer professional development sessions for MBA students. Designed specifically for 1st years, the career labs are an opportunity for students to kickstart their job search and stay up to date with relevant topics within healthcare. Career Labs in the beginning of the semester tend to focus on more functional topics including (but not limited to): networking best practices, interview prep, job application tips, and advice from panels of 2nd years. As students start to narrow down their job search and secure interviews, the Healthcare Club brings in various industry leaders and experts to give insight on the latest trends and topics within the industry, all with the goal of better preparing students for their interviews and summer internships.
Career Treks
During fall break, students have the opportunity to participate in carious career treks which taken them to several companies within their chosen industry. Organized in partnership with the Healthcare Club and Career & Leadership, the treks provide excellent networking and recruiting opportunities for students interested in some of the premiere companies within the healthcare industry. Recent treks have included visits to Johnson & Johnson, Bristol-Meyers Squibb, Cigna, and GlaxoSmithKline.
Lunch & Learns
Lunch & Learns are semi-monthly sessions hosted by the Healthcare Club that give students more opportunity to network and discuss the latest trends in healthcare. Topics can range from guest lectures from our company sponsors to 2nd year panels discussing their summer internships.

Healthcare club members have the unique opportunity to help plan, organize, and implement this event, which over the past few years has become one of the most well-attended and popular annual events at Kenan-Flagler.
Case Competition
The UNC Healthcare Case Competition provides an opportunity for UNC students to work across disciplines (business, public health) pharmacy, medicine, nursing, and dentistry) to solve a real-world problem. Each team includes 4-5 students and must have at least two disciplines represented. The external round is hosted in conjunction with the Healthcare Conference, and conference panelists and speakers are routinely selected as judges. In addition to ample networking and interaction with corporate sponsors and judges, cash prizes are offered to winners of both the internal and final rounds.
